Being back in Dordrecht feels bittersweet. While I have a few theories about this, I'm attributing most of these big feelings to fact I haven't lived in the Netherlands long enough to consider it "home" and California (at least for now) will always feel like home. However, after running around for three weeks, being back in our cozy little flat, feels good and feels like home - even if it's just inside these walls.
Emotions aside, this trip was a blur. We traveled up and down the coast. Attended two really beautiful weddings. Spent time with loved ones. And actually worked quite a bit. I think we truly relaxed one day - one glorious afternoon swimming and sunbathing on the beach at Crystal Cove (this was a spontaneous trip parlayed from a meeting I had that morning). To be honest, I wish we had another week (or three) to see everyone and everything we couldn't fit into the time we had.
Now that I'm back - It's time to channel all of the inspiration and get started on some exciting new projects (top secret stuff for now, but I'll be making some announcements in the next month). In the mean time, stay tuned. In the next week I'll be posting my Top California Coastal Stops, a few recipes inspired by the Golden State and lots and lots of photos detailing our California Adventures.
