Today, I'm sharing one of my first and favorite DIY creations - a lemon-sugar body scrub. I created this in 2011 after discovering how easy it is to concoct an inexpensive and truly natural alternative to the pricey and chemically "organic" scrub I had been using.
The luxurious results are well worth the 10 minutes it takes to whip up - seriously, it would take more time to go to the store and purchase a manufactured scrub. Expect your shower to smell like a citrus grove and your skin to be softer than ever. I've found that using this regularly eradicates my need for body lotion.
Mix all ingredients and store in a plastic, air tight container:
3/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup coarse sea salt
1/2 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon lemon essential oil
Be extra careful - the oils in the scrub will make your shower slippery.
