You guys, who wants to get (white) chocolate wasted? Good, ok, this Gezellig Hour is for you.
Truth be told, you'd need to drink A LOT of this Boozy Hazelnut Hot Chocolate to get that kind of wasted because the alcohol level is fairly low. BUT get ready for a fire side sipper to warm you up and indulge all of your white chocolate cravings.
After a lot of experimenting, I'm really pleased with how this recipe is decadent enough to be dessert in a glass, but boozy enough to know you're drinking a cocktail. I suppose everyone has their personal preference, but for me, this was perfect. Initially, I only used almond milk but felt it was lacking, so I ponied up and added some heavy cream - this made all of the difference. The recipe below is enough for three generous servings.
3 cups milk of choice (I used almond milk)
6 oz white chocolate (170 grams)
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup Frangelico
1/8 cup white sugar (50 grams)
2 oz bourbon
Over low heat, in a saucepan, melt the white chocolate and sugar in the milk and heavy cream (stir intermittently with a whisk to make sure it doesn't burn). Remove from heat and stir in the bourbon and Frangelico. Serve immediately.
